How To Use Herbatint Permanent Haircolor Gel
BEFORE YOU START
1. PREPARING YOUR HAIR: At least 24 hours before colouring your hair, avoid shampooing. Your natural oil guards against irritation on your scalp. However, your hair must be free of any chlorine or hair styling product residue (including that left behind by leave-in conditioners, 2-in-1 shampoos, etc.). Incorporate the colour into dry hair.
2.TEST YOUR CHOSEN COLOUR: It’s ideal to stick to tones that are one or two tones lighter or darker than your natural colour, which is the shade of your roots. Before applying it to the entire head, you can test the colour on a strand of hair if you’re not sure. It is preferable to choose the lighter shade if you can’t decide between two.

HOW TO APPLY HERBATINT
1. PREPARE THE COLOUR
Put on your gloves, cover your clothes with protective tape (or an old towel or t-shirt), and you’re ready to go.
Equal parts of developer and colour should be added to a glass or plastic bowl (no metal) and mixed until a gel-like consistency is achieved.
The bottle caps can be used as a measurement device (1 cap 5 nil). Bottles holding unused products should have their tops replaced after use and they should be saved for your next approval. Any residual mixture in the basin needs to be thrown away.
HOW TO MIX 2 OR MORE SHADES
Herbatint allows you to combine two or more hues to create a custom look but always remember to combine the exact same amount of colour and developer.
In order to mix two hues, such as 6N and 7D, in the same proportion, you need combine 30 ml each of 6N and 7D (for a total of 60 ml of colour) with 60 ml of developer.

2. APPLYING HERBATINT AND WAIT
- To prevent skin discolouration, apply a layer of Royal Cream (sachet supplied in package) along your hairline.
- Apply the mixture with a brush to dry, unwashed hair. Keep in mind that the final colour is unaffected by the colour of the mixture.
- Keep to the Processing time and set aside for 40 minutes.
1st CASE: APPLICATION ON UNCOLOURED HAIR
Apply the mixture in sections, working your way down the length of the hair from the roots to the ends. Observe for 40 minutes while it processes.
2nd CASE: APPLICATION ON PREVIOUSLY COLOURED HAIR
Apply the mixture there and let it sit for 30 minutes before removing. Wait another 10 minutes before applying the remaining mixture to the remaining hair (total processing time; 40 minutes). It’s crucial to follow the processing time.
3. WASH AND CONDITION YOUR HAIR
Once the colour has developed, rinse well until the water is completely clear, keeping your head tilted back to prevent product from getting in your eyes.
Next Give your hair a good shampoo, preferably Herbatint Normalizing Shampoo, followed by another rinse and towel drying.
Apply Herbatint Royal Cream last. Restorer of conditioner. After 5 minutes, rinse once more then style your hair as usual.
